This year too, the magic of the Vele d’Epoca of Imperia conquered the public, confirming the event as one of the most fascinating and anticipated in the Mediterranean. From September 2 to 6, the port of Imperia was transformed into an open-air stage where history, beauty, and passion for the sea came together in four days filled with spectacular regattas, cultural events, and moments of celebration.
The ideal weather conditions made the regattas even more exciting, offering an unforgettable spectacle both at sea and on land. The undisputed protagonists were the boats: true ladies of the sea which, with their elegant lines and timeless charm, paraded before a large and enthusiastic audience. Among the winners of this edition, Aria (1935), with Serena Galvani at the helm, dominated the 8 Metre S.I. class, winning the Coppa Imperia; Crivizza (1966) was awarded the Trofeo Città di Imperia as the best vintage and classic vessel, while Barbara (1923) shone in the final parade, receiving the Trofeo Eleganza thanks to her unmistakable style.
But the Vele d’Epoca are not only about regattas. This year’s calendar included a rich program of collateral events that involved all age groups: from pool games between crews and moorers, to children’s camps with face painting, little theaters, and stilt walkers, up to dance shows, concerts, and evenings on the quay enlivened by international DJs, including Get Far Fargetta. Everything ended with an evocative pyromusical show, which closed the event leaving everyone with the beauty of the sails in their eyes and the desire to return in their hearts.
Marina di Imperia had the pleasure and honor of once again being the heart of this great event. Our team and the moorers worked tirelessly to ensure the perfect reception of the boats and the safe management of every maneuver, contributing to the success of the entire event. During the days of the gathering, many visitors also stopped by our stand to ask for information about the future of the Marina and the major redevelopment project that will soon transform the port into a destination of excellence, with new services, hospitality spaces, and facilities dedicated to an increasingly international clientele.
With an eye already on 2026, an even more special edition is anticipated: it will be the 40th anniversary of the gathering, an important milestone that will be celebrated with an enhanced program and the extraordinary presence of the 12 Metre International Tonnage fleet, historic protagonists of the America’s Cup. One more reason to look forward to next September, always with the wind in our sails and our gaze set on the future.
