The sea of Imperia once again proves to be an ideal stage for youth sailing. On Saturday, June 29, 2025, the waters off Marina di Imperia hosted the Trofeo Giotto – Crescere a Colori, a regatta serving as a zonal qualifier for the National Youth Championship in the Optimist class.
Organized by the Porto Maurizio Yacht Club in collaboration with Go Imperia, the event welcomed over one hundred athletes aged 9 to 15, who came from across Liguria to take part in a full day of competitive racing. Sponsored by Fila and the Region of Liguria, and supported by the Municipality of Imperia, the Trofeo is an important stepping stone towards national competitions and a valuable learning experience for young sailors.
Favorable weather conditions, typical of this stretch of coastline, allowed the races to proceed smoothly, challenging the technical skills and determination of each participant. It was a unique opportunity to grow, to compete, and to fully embrace the spirit of the sea.
The success of the Trofeo Giotto once again highlights Imperia’s strategic role in promoting youth sailing. It is a commitment that extends from the quality of local facilities and hospitality to the educational value of sport itself—shaping not only athletes, but individuals.
